SAT question. Kerry Sex Scandal is to politics as blank is to baseball...

The answer: An A-Rod Trade

After first flirting with the Red Sox, it appears that the Rangers now have another high profile bidder on the aforementioned highly paid shortop. That's right folks, the Yankees. Today's New York Post is claiming talks, while still in their infancy, between the Rangers and Yankees have begun.

I didn't want to post on the weekend, but, come on...this is going to be big news if it actually is true.

On another note, in retrospect, during my previous post I failed to mention what sports were on this weekend. So, here are the things I will at least take slight interest in:

Daytona 500: Sunday@1:30 on NBC
NBA All-Star Game: Sunday@8:00 on TNT
Slam Dunk and Three Point Contest: Saturday@8:30 on TNT - - If you can get your woman to watch this with you then she is a freaking keeper.
Buick Invitational: Sat@3:00 on CBS, Sun@3:00 on CBS

UPDATE: If this morning was the infancy of the trade it appears this afternoon has been the maturation.

Morning Stew

9:44 and nothing too interesting has come up on my radar screen this morning. The Kerry scandal is still brewing, the Cubs are still getting more night games, Jeremy Roenick broke his jaw again, Paris Hilton is still a slut (no link necessary - just a statement), and WMD's have still not been found in Iraq. Pretty boring if you ask me. Now, if John Kerry had broken Jeremy Roenick's jaw, at a Cubs night game, because Roenick was sleeping with Kerry's intern (a young hotel heiress) then perhaps we would have a story. Alas....

Pitchers and Catchers report in just under 5 days - - - hopefully Maddux is one of the people reporting to the Cubs. Doubt it though.

Found this power ranking to be a bit odd. The administrators of it moved the Cubs up to 5th, after ending last year at 8th, but for some reason have the Astros 2nd. And, the Reds 30th? The Angels 3rd? Uh, okay...

The more and more I look on the internet, the more and more I realize that any moron could write for a major baseball site. Finding intelligent commentary in the comment sections of Baseball Musings and The Cub Reporter is far easier than trying to find similarly good remarks anywhere else (outside of the few good ones on ESPN and around the blogger community).

Oh, and remember - - make as many friends as possible. You could die if you don't.

Quote of the day, possible book of the year, and greatest band ever... almost

- Ahh, there is nothing better than wit from our elected officials. Thanks to the lovely Wonkette, I stumbled across the following quote from an unnamed Democrat:

"We need to have a better system in place than 19-year-old interns opening our mail."

See, that is why I side with the Liberals...they just use common sense.

- Over under on number of days before Mr. Lewis retracts this statement? I will start the bidding at 250.

- If you live in New York and you don't see this band you should be slapped repeatedly by Ron Jeremy's member. For any girls, or guys I guess, that actually would like that... you should be subject to Barbara Walters nude for hours on end. [Thank you to Will Carroll for pointing this beautiful site out to me.]

- Oh, Gawker, I love you for bringing this to my attention. Paris... Hilton...book...deal; unintentional comedy factor is going to be through the roof on this thing.

Okay, everyone (I say that knowing not one person has ever read this site), I am off to a Bone Pony show. If anybody has ever heard of these guys drop me a line, cuz I sure haven't.
