Dissenting Opinion
I am just going to come right out and say it... The Olsen Twins are not hot. Why people think they are baffles me to no end. In all honesty, I understand voting for Bush more than the attraction people have for the the weird faced, ultra skinny, siblings of my favorite TGIF show.
Just had to get that out there.
For those of you interested though: 46 Days until they are legal.

Color me stupid
Well, it may just be because I am tired, but I can't figure this out:
You have two wicks. One burns for an hour and the other one burns for half an hour. Measure forty-five minutes.
Anybody?

If I am going to break the code
It appears that I am going to have to get to the Louvre soon:
The Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece of a mysterious woman with a slight smile, is deteriorating quickly, the Louvre Museum said Monday, announcing that an in-depth technical study was being conducted to determine why.

True Meaning of Hero
A lot of time in this world we like to place the "hero" moniker on to an athlete. We like to praise them for the bravery and strength they bring to the field of play. We like to idolize them, and tell our kids of random meetings with them. We like to lather them with praise and pay to see them do what they do best. Well, the word "hero" in that context is going to sicken me for a couple days because today we lost a real hero:
Pat Tillman, a former NFL player who swapped a glamorous football career to enlist in the U.S. Army, has been killed in action in Afghanistan, ABCNEWS has learned. The 27-year-old former football player was killed in direct action during a firefight in Afghanistan, Pentagon sources told ABCNEWS. But there were no further details available.
A former member of the Arizona Cardinals, Tillman, along with his brother Kevin, enrolled with the U.S. Army Rangers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
Last year, the brothers were awarded an Arthur Ashe Courage Award meant for individuals whose contributions transcend sports. The award was accepted by their younger brother, Richard, while the brothers were away.
Tillman, an unrestricted free agent, spurned a $9 million, five-year offer sheet from the St. Louis Rams in 2001 to join the Army. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Tillman was an exceptional student with a 3.84 grade point average through college and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in marketing.

Update:
The Command Post and Outside the Beltway have more, including multiple links to past stories about Tillman.

Black Bush
Dave Chappelle wondered out loud what President Bush would be like were he black. Here is what he came up with:

Bin Laden Truce
I was going to type a response to Bin Laden's latest tape, but then I read Andrew Sullivan's and realized I couldn't do any better.
Read it and then try to tell me cuss words don't have at least some value in this world.

A9
It's not Google, but it immediately vaults to 2nd in charge in this bloggers mind.
Mother's might immediately put it 1st in charge though:
Some filtering does appear to be taking place. A search of the word "porn" on A9.com, for instance, returned links to articles on the war against pornography, documentaries and anti-porn groups. A Google search on the same term returned actual porn sites.

Tie
Not for nothing, but shouldn't Bush have worn a tie that didn't reflect a rainbow on to the screen?
I thought they tested that kind of stuff.
[Update:] Here is the full transcript of President Bush's opening statements. Strangely the tie isn't mentioned, but I think Bush did say something Wonkette will like:
"For the first time the civilized world has provided a concerted response to the ideology of terror: a series of powerful, effective blows"
[Another Update:] Outside the Beltway and Instapundit have complete breakdowns of the speech.
My reaction? Well, he stayed on message. A few people, as you will notice in the Instapundit breakdown, are trash talking the press. I don't really get that. In my opinion, the reporters asked the questions that a majority of Americans wanted to hear (granted, Bush didn't answer any of them so it doesn't count). That won't matter though, and OTB through Poliblog explains why:
It’s not the performance, it’s the sound bites. I’m very seldom impressed with a Bush press conference or speech even though I like him; the sound bytes almost always come out better than the “live” version. And it’s the sound bytes that get remembered.
Sadly, that is 100% true. The President's response to what his greatest mistake has been in his life was laughable, he blatantly ignored a question about why he and Cheney have to tag-team the 9/11 comission, and he routinely answered questions with responses that correlated little or not at all to the question asked. But, sound bytes are what matter, and he had those.
